5 out of 5 stars One of my 'Baby Best Buys'   April 11, 2008
3 out of 3 found this review helpful

This was definately one of my 'Baby Best Buys'. The sound quality on this monitor is absolutely brilliant. It's so good and clear that my husband thought our baby was in the moses basket beside me when he heard our baby cry the first night I used it. There are a huge amount of menu options available on the monitor eg. melodies, temperature monitor (room too hot or room too cold), talk facility, light and torch. I have used all of them except the melodies - only due to lack of opportunity. I'd highly recommend this to anyone. It really is worth every penny. If I was to criticise anything, it would be the belt clip... it could be more secure. Mine has bounced a couple of times! - but in saying that, it's still working, so I suppose that's another plus for it too!!!

1 out of 5 stars Problematic - do not buy   April 11, 2008

Having had the BT Baby Plus for aprox 7 months it suddenly stopped working. BT were very helpful and sent out the brand new BT baby monitor 150. The monitor and parent unit would not connect - so they sent another one. The vibrate does not work and the unit cuts out on anything other than sensitivity level 5. They have asked me to send it back so they can check it - without sending a replacement; they are asking me to go without a baby monitor for "a few days". As i do not want my child to be in bed, upstairs without a baby monitor I find that this system is flawed.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic Monitor - well worth the extra money   April 4, 2008

I originally had a Tommee Tippee Suresound Deluxe but hated it and bought this BT 150 model instead. It is fantastic. The sound quality is fantastic and I like that you can turn the sensitivity up and down so we can choose not to hear every little snort and snore our son makes. (he's a noisy sleeper). You can turn the volume up and down on the parent unit, and it vibrates so you can 'feel' if your child is yelling while you're mowing the lawn with it in your pocket. The reception is fantastic; the signal has never dropped out even in our 3 storey thick-walled Victorian house, and it still gets the signal 70 metres down the end of the garden in our brick summerhouse. I like the temperature reading which you can see from the parent unit, I like the 5 different lullabies which you can turn on and off by remote. And the batteries last for ages and recharge easily by putting the unit back on the parent stand. I definitely recommend this monitor - yes it's a little more pricey than many on the market, but it's well worth it.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent purchase - thanks reviewers!   April 4, 2008

We spent a long time researching monitors for our first baby due in June, as I didn't want to waste what can be a considerable amount of money. Amazon's reviewers persuaded me to buy the BT monitor 150 and I'm very pleased so far. I'm currently downloading the CDs that my Mum made me onto my IPOD so I can play these to my bump at bedtime - very useful feature! Everything's as promised so far, and I'm looking forward to playing with it and discovering all the features! Very good value for money I'd say.

4 out of 5 stars Works well but some flaws   April 1, 2008

This is a feature packed monitor with clear sound. After all, clear, interference free sound is what matters most and it delivers on this respect. However, there are some flaws, at least with my unit:

- Sound Alert and Vibrate don't work unless you turn the volume all the way down using the volume keys. If you press the mute button they don't work.
- Even if you remember to turn it down instead of pressing mute, the volume required to activate Sound Alert and Vibrate is too high for our newborn and cannot be changed.
- The talk-back button on the parent unit is too easy to press accidentally, which may blast sound out of the baby unit.
- It is too easy to press the talk-back button whilst turning off the torch, resulting in a loud feedback screech if both units are too close together.
- There is no feedback detection, so you get a loud screech if both units are too close together.
- It sometimes makes my BT cordless phone lose connection with the base-station if they are close together.

Maybe another reviewer can let me know if they have the same flaws.

Don't let this put you off however, I researched carefully before buying this and I am still pleased with my purchase. The other functions work well and I hope BT can fix the flaws with the next version.
