Jacques the Peacock - baby entertainment! September 1, 2008 Lamaze have a wide range of items for babies which all seem to work well. Jacques the Peacock contains a wide range of colours, rattles, patterns and textures etc to stimulate baby and keep him interested. The back of his wings are black and white - easy colours for baby to focus on in the early days. When baby is a little older he'll be interested in the front of the wings - they contain different fabric textures, and one wing has a squeaker, one has a rattle, one has a mirror and the fourth one has different fabric inserts on it. There are 'taggie' ribbons around the rattle which babies seem to find fascinating. The large clip means that Stretch can be attached to a pushchair, baby gym etc to keep baby occupied. My 16 week old little boy loves him - even just holding on to him. Highly recommended, 5 stars.
Lamaze-ing peacock June 28, 2008 I have bought this toy for my daughter when she was around 7 weeks old and have initially hanged it so that she could see the back of the toy - it is made of a round red base with black and white patterns on the four "wings" and resembles a half-flower with four petals. The black and white high-contrast patterns are great for the younger babies, so my daughter spent many happy hours fascinated by it and just hitting the toy with her fist.
At around 10 weeks she was able to turn the peacock around and reveal the side full of colour. Then came the textures - there are plenty of "bits" for the little hands to catch. It seems that there is no end to her finding enjoyment in this toy as she discovers different features step by step (she still hasn't discovered the squeaker and the rattle). At 3 months now, she is trying to put it in her mouth whenever I unhook it, however I think that it works best hanged nearby as it is quite large and covers her entire face when played with.
Overall this is one of the best toys I bought for my daughter so far and she plays with it for long spells of time daily. It is of Lamaze quality (i.e. top) and very cleverly designed to appeal to a growing baby throught different stages of development.
ok June 19, 2008 I bought this product for my 4 months old baby. After reading other reviews I thought he would get lots of fun playing with it but actually, this toy does not entertain him that much. It is quite a big toy in babies' hands and my son likes to play with things he can hold easily. Even if I hang it to his cot or pram, it's in his face and he does not really like it. Nice little toy though!
Brilliant June 6, 2008 My daughter loves this item. I bought it before she was born along with the Lamaze - Kangeroo. Immediately it was obvious she really liked the peacock. She is fascinated by it. I would highly recommend it.
High quality well made toy May 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My 6 week old daughter loves Peacock! She loves to look at his big eyes. This toy is very well made, superb quality and has lots of different textures and sounds which I'm sure she will love when she gets a bit older. Hook is very handy to clip onto bouncer or pram. Highly recommended.
