5 out of 5 stars Does the Jo - but...   August 23, 2008

The device does not work with SDHC cards although suggested in the description. the SDHC card would just show "loading..." also the description suggests that a CD comes with it, this is also no longer true due to the manufacture - but the firmware is readily available on the site

Overall a good product - 5*

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic!   August 16, 2008

If you own a nintendo DS or you have one for your kids, this is a must buy item. My daughter has a DS and everytime she wants to take it with her we had to lug 6 or 7 games as she gets bored easilly. Now we have them all saved onto 1 cart, fantatstic.
1 word of caution, I tried it with a 4GB micro SD card and it wouldn't work, works fine with 2GB one though, which holds around 40 games so is plenty.

5 out of 5 stars Best thing you can buy for your DS!   August 12, 2008

The R4 is so easy to use, and the updates are easy to find and obtain! Games easy to obtain, all so easy to set up even a monkey could do it! I would recommend this to anyone and everyone!

3 out of 5 stars R4DS...errors and issues!   August 5, 2008

Yep - exactly what you need to use your 'back-up' NDS games.
Works in both the NDS and NDS Lite...
The original web address supplied by Digizo was incorrect, but you literally download the file (latest English 'kernel' version, 1.18 as of 5/8/08) from the r4ds site, search engines are helpful!
And put the 4 files on the Sandisk card attached to your USB port via the supplied adaptor.
It then runs the R4DS.
Then drag and drop your .nds files, etc. into your memory stick in a new folder called 'Games'...! :o)
*sweeeet*
The issue I have is the first unit I received was clearly an 'original', and run perfectly.
The second one is a suspected 'fake'. Poor printing on the box and a 'Chinese' error when started.
I spent hours tracking a solution down, and needed a 'patch' to fix it! :(
This wasn't easy to find! (And I'm no 'noob', LOL)
Still - well worth it in the end! Honest.

3 out of 5 stars problems with R4DS   July 24, 2008

This is overall a great product and i would highly recommend it to anyone who hates having to lug all their ds carts around with them.
However there were several problems i have encountered and hopefully my solutions will work for anyone else encountering the same problems.

First off digizoUK don't offer any tech support for the product and directed me to R4's website which was also very unhelpful. I have had similar problems to other reviewers with my cart freezing during gameplay and have found this to be due to the contact pins of the cartridge coming loose from the DS system.

The easiest way to remedy this is to fold a bit of paper and stick in on the far side of the ds cart slot to further push the R4 cart closer to the DS cart reading pins. This solved the problem for me but if anyone has further problems then you could open up the cart and place a bit of paper inside the cartridge pushing the contact pins further out feom the case. Whilst this is a permanent fix it may void your warranty and is not advisable unless you are familiar with these procedures.

Hope this helps anyone encountering errors and problems with the R4.
