4 out of 5 stars enough for MRCS   July 14, 2007

This book is quite simple and uncomplicated and as such is easy to remember all the points for the viva. This is the only book I used for the operative part of the MRCS viva and it was fine for this purpose.

Sat the recent MRCS Viva and passed. This book was excellent. It covers the vast majority of common surgical operations that you need to know about, gives a background on each subject, and explains how to do the operation. You obviously need to buy other books for the other sections, but combine this book with the general viva books like Goodfellow or Chan, and you should pass the operative surgery component.
