5 out of 5 stars Brilliant Especially for Mums Making Decisions   January 1, 2002

I used this book to evaluate the care I received in my 2nd pregnancy after having discovered I had been misinformed of several facts about treatments in my first pregnancy and having several others facts not told to me at all.

This book was excellent and easy to read. It really allowed me to make an informed choice about my pregnancy and birth options resulting in an empowered yet safe delivery. I found it a really good source of information from which I could extract facts when discussing my options with my obstetrician. This allowed me to speak to him as an equal.

I would give it 10/5 if that was possible it was a God send for me.

Don't be fooled by the title - while both authors have a midwifery professional background this text is clear, comprehensive and should be accessable and of value to students and practitioners alike.

Throught the use of key topic boxes, information is provided in easy to access format.
