Wonderful! February 28, 2006 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I searched for a long time for a book on giraffes and I was so pleased to find this one. It's very well written, with a wonderful personal touch. Many books on various animals can jump right in with lots of text and too much information pushed on you right away but this really is a lovely, interesting, fact-filled, easy-to-read but intellectual book.A must-have for any giraffe, or animal lover.
Giraffe lovers-Smile! January 10, 2004 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
What can i say? Tall Blondes is a fantastic, captivating book, bursting with facts, gorgeous photographs, drawings and describitions, i was in love! I first heard about the book when i watched a documentary featuring Joanna Lumley. She raved about the book, and i decided to see what all the fuss was about, well now i can see what she means. This book captivates the essence of giraffes, and brings a calming sensation of almost desperation to meet these incredible creatures. So gentle, so peaceful, at one with an amazingly mixed up world, one of the most specatcular creatures, i believe, on the planet. How can anyone not fall in deep, passionate love with these gentle giants? Reading Tall Blondes brings an urge to meet and help the giraffe, that was originally considered a freak. If you have no wish to adore these creatures, then don't read this, it's for giraffe lovers only, or at least you will be a giraffe lover after reading it!
"Tall Blondes" gives a rush to the giraffe lover. January 11, 1999 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The personality of the giraffe is seen throughout this book. I wish humans could learn from the giraffe's peace in his world, the eye contact, the sharing, the adaption to the world as it is. Lynn Sherr has had the best opportunity in the world. All I want to know is "Can I go to Nairobi and pet the giraffes too? Excellant Book. You will love it!

This book contains the most captivating journey through the history and lives of giraffes that I have ever had the pleasure of reading. As a giraffophile myself, I was amazed at the extent of new, fascinating information contained within each page. It has wonderful illustrations that complement and enhance the reading. "Tall Blondes" is a must-have for every giraffe lover; it's a graceful, distinctive work that is truly deserving of its unique subject matter.
