A clear-sighted critical overview of British foreign policy in the former Yugoslavia from 1991 until the aftermath of Dayton, arguing that 'Britain and its allies should have intervened on the side of the victims, or they should have stayed out altogether, lifted the embargo and let the Bosnian government forces defend themselves. Maintaining the necessary consent from the warring parties to allow the delivery of humanitarian aid became the figleaf for not addressing the issue of genocide.'
