...but a major text! I keep it at work all the time - it is excellent, especially for telephone triage. I even caught one of our GP's sneaking it one day!!

I have just commenced a Nurse Practitioner degree and needed a book to give me the basic on minor illnesses presenting in Primary Care. This book is it. If you have a small budget, this is definitely one to get!

4 out of 5 stars a good, clearly written and eay to follow book   January 25, 2001

this book gives very clear protocols for nurses undertaking the increasingly common role of minor illness clinics within General Practice. The protocols and recommended medical treatment may not be the same as may be recommended by some doctors but it gives a good basis from which to work, to evolve protocols for such clinics. Differential diagnoses are explored which may alert the nurse to a potentially less minor condition. This book is a must for nurses in this role.
