Great book! May 21, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am a community midwife and got this book on the recommendation of a colleague who works on antenatal clinic full time! I found all sections easy to read and understand - especially the sections on biochemical markers in screening and chromosomal and genetic testing! A handy book for reference whether you are a student or a qualified midwife.
Excellent Book January 3, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this book when I started working on an antenatal day unit (as a midwife with 3 years experience in intrapartum care) and found it very useful and up to date. It's also a good book to recommend to students to help their understanding of umbilical artery dopplers for example and the antenatal screening and pregnancy loss section is also good. Overall it is easy to read and understand and worth a read.
Midwifes Guide to Antenatal Investigations December 22, 2006 Very clear and easy to understand. Is only 200 pages long, so information is not abundent, but is more than sufficient. Good to accompany more detailed text books such as Myles, and Mayes. Would especially recommend to new student midwives, but if in later 2nd and 3rd year (like me) not an essential purchase, as you probably have books that cover most it all already, and we require more indepth information by this stage of the course. Saying that there is some good info in it.
