A reflective route into not just health social care but may be extended to other areas in once life February 4, 2008 My primary goal into purchasing this book was to learn the concept of a profile however it gave me much more, without the usual jordon that journals seem to be so much fond of. I highly recommend it to anyone new to this area of writing. My first view when i was first asked to write a reflective profile for my masters degree is that i percieved myself being assessed on my way of writing and not on my process of learning. This book gave me the answer that one may gain from reflective writing and profile setting. Kris Grima
A complete waste of time November 8, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Not worth the paper it's printed on. A profile or portfolio is just an extended CV, not rocket science and not worth a book costing 15 to tell you how to do it, no matter how many references quoted. All the guidance needed can be found in the nursing journals so don't bother with this book.
An easy reference to an essential registration requirement April 9, 2002 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
This book provides one of the easiest guides to the much debated topic of re-registration that I have come across to date. The maintenance of a professional portfolio is a current requirement of the UKCC/NMC re-registration process and many nurses remain confused as to the format and content of the document. This book gives clear guidelines about content and formats in a no-nonsense manner, and gives clear definitions of the differences between portfolios and profiles, essential for any self-respecting, job-hunting nurse! A book that definitely needs to be on every ward bookshelf.
